CourseForum Technologies announced on Monday that
ProjectForum have been updated to version 3.5. The new editions of their collaboration tools for education and business use, respectively, feature new licensing options as well as several bug fixes and minor feature changes.
The new licensing, called Campus for CourseForum users and Enterprise for ProjectForum users, is based on the number of registered seats, without limits on the number of courses or groups. A single sign-in feature allows the same account to be used everywhere. Pricing starts at US$500 per year for 250 Campus licenses and $1,000 per year for 150 Enterprise licenses. The applications’ traditional licensing, which is based on the number of courses or groups, is still available starting at $89 for CourseForum and $229 for ProjectForum, with free, feature-limited “lite” versions of both also still available. Hosting options start at $15 per month.
Enhancements to ProjectForum and CourseForum include allowing theme designers to dictate the sizes of comment posting areas and help pop-up windows, as well as the ability to set a site-wide help page that comes up when users click on the Help button in any forum. In addition, the Manage Storage administration page now includes the option to monitor and clear up storage for activity logs, and the Site Administration options now feature the ability to redirect from the home page directly to a group or course when only one is available.
