Toon Boom Animation Inc. on Monday released Toon Boom Studio v2.5 for Mac OS X, the latest upgrade to the company’s cartoon animation software. New features in Toon Boom Studio v2.5 include sound scrubbing in the timeline, the ability to draw in Sceneplanning and support for scanning.
Toon Boom Studio is a complete cartoon animation solution that features drawing tools, lip sync tools, 3D camera and scene planning tools. It can output to Macromedia Flash and QuickTime. System requirements call for G4 or faster, Mac OS X v10.3 or higher, 256MB RAM, 100MB hard disk space, 24-bit color display with 32MB VRAM-equipped video card, and Wacom tablet recommended.
When Toon Boom Studio was previewed at Macworld Expo in San Francisco this past January, the company said that all current customers using version 1.2 that had registered their license key at toonboomstudio.com will receive their upgrade electronically at no charge. The company noted today that if you’re eligible to receive that free upgrade to 2.5, you must do so by May 19, 2004.
