RealNetworks Inc. on Tuesday introduced a beta version of its Real 10 Export Plug-in for Mac OS X. The software enables video editors using Final Cut Pro, After Effects, Xpress Pro and other software to export their work to RealAudio 10 and RealVideo 10 formats. The company expects to offer support for additional applications including Discreet Cleaner this summer.
The plug-in itself was created using Real’s Helix DNA Producer Software Development Kit (SDK) — an effort to open development of media encoding and decoding technology based on some of RealNetworks’ technology. This particular plug-in is available as a Quicktime Export module.
RealNetworks notes that the software is still in beta form, so it warns users that it may not be suitable for commercial use. The company also offers users the option of being notified when the software reaches a gold master version.
