The Iconfactory has announced the winners of
Pixelpalooza 2004, its icon design contest. The company said that 100 entries were made from around the world; of that, nine were picked.
Winners were judged in three different categories: Mac OS X, CandyBar (The Iconfactory’s OS X interface customizing app), and “Classic” Mac OS. First and second place winners were selected, along with People’s Choice award winners. Winners receive prize packages and the envy and respect of their peers, but everyone can enjoy the results of the contest by downloading the winning sets.
Yenz’s Moccu Icons won first place in the Mac OS X category, with second place going to Max Fiedler’s Arthropoda set. Dirceu Veiga’s Coffee Break Icons won the People’s Choice award in the OS X category.
The CandyBar Category saw Yegor Gilyov get first place with Underwater and Josh Williams’ Spring Jam Vol. 1 set get second; Everaldo Coelho and George Brayner’s Kids Icon Set got the People’s Choice nod.
Finally, Denise Wilton’s Impy came in first in the Classic Mac OS category, with etherbrian’s micropocketpixels getting second. Saho’s Cheese Folders collection was picked as the People’s Choice.
