German developer IRIDAS has made its FrameCycler Multi Platform (MP) application available for Mac OS X, the company announced on Wednesday. The software’s toolset includes real-time uncompressed playback, scrubbing with sound, AB Channels and other features aimed at the film and animation industries. The update not only allows FrameCycler to be implemented in heterogeneous environments but also now supports flipbooking from Apple’s Shake software.
FrameCycler MP comes in two flavors: Professional, a RAM-buffered playback application for animators; and Digital Daily System, which streams video sequences directly from a fast disk array. It runs in Mac OS X v.10.3 “Panther,” as well as Linux and Windows.
