Mac users have often complained that they get short shrift from Opera Software, maker of the Opera Web browser. In the past, Opera Software has often let their Mac browser languish as they’ve focused development on other versions. Today the company released beta 1 of Opera version 7.50, offering the same version on all desktop platforms, including the Mac.
Opera v7.50b1 for Mac provides an improved user interface, added functionality and more. The software now features Opera Mail, which combines e-mail, Usenet news and RSS newsfeed support, an Internet Relay Chat (IRC)-compatible instant messaging client, faster rendering interface, support for bidirectional text, and Unicode keyboard layout support.
Opera is available to download free. You can use it either free of charge using a sponsored advertising banner or advertising banner-free if users play the US$29 registration fee. Opera 7.50 requires Mac OS X v10.1 or later.
