Apple on Wednesday released iMovie 4.0.1, an updated version of the digital video editing application the company includes as part of its iLife 04 software suite. The new version improves performance when working with large projects, increases reliability when opened, when titles are added to the timeline and when third-party plug-ins are removed, and more. The 1.2MB update can be downloaded from Apple’s Web site.
iMovie 4.0.1 also includes fixes for pixelated video, corrupted “Ken Burns” clips and loss of audio after editing video or audio and then emptying the trash.
Apple also noted that iMovie gets “additional performance improvements and increased iSight compatibility” when used in conjunction with QuickTime 6.5.1, also released Wednesday, and iSight v1.0.2, which was released in February.
Apple advises that you must have imovie 4.0 installed in its original location to update to this new version; if iMovie has been moved, the updater will not work.
