Apple said that it is investigating problems reported with an iPod update released this week, according to Cnet. Some users say that the updater hasn’t been able to detect their iPod once the device is connected to their Macs.
The iPod updater was released in conjunction with updates to iTunes and QuickTime earlier this week. The update supports all iPods manufactured before April 28, 2004, enabling them to work with iTunes 4.5 and the iTunes Music Store. The update also enables dock connector-equipped iPods and iPod minis to play music encoded using Apple Lossless Encoder. Apple acknowledged “a few isolated reports” from users who say the updater can’t find their iPod, and said that it’s looking into the problem.
