With Macworld Conference & Expo Boston just two months away, Macintosh User Group (MUG) Center editor Chuck Joiner wants to remind all user group members that they have until Friday, May 7 to take advantage of free Exhibit Hall passes for the show, in addition to 15 percent off all conference packages. You can find more information on the MUG Center Web site.
In other user group news, Joiner notes that MacWarriors, a user group at the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana, recently released The Music Recommendation System. The utility integrates with iTunes and the iTunes Music Store, allowing you to upload your songs’ ratings to a central server and receive recommendations based on the ratings uploaded by other users.
Meanwhile, Austin’s Capital Macintosh User Group will feature dealmac.com co-founder Dan de GrandPre at their May 13 meeting. He’ll discuss his Web site’s history, cover its main features and explain how to use it to get the best prices on Macintosh computers and related peripherals. The meeting kicks off at 7:30 p.m. Visit the group’s Web site for location and directions.
If you’re wondering what’s going on at a user group in your area, don’t forget that the MUG Center hosts a calendar that lists all the events for the month. Contact Joiner to get your group’s events listed.
