MonsterGecko LLC announced Tuesday the PistolMouse FPS, a new gaming mouse compatible with Macs and PCs that’s designed specifically for 3D first-person shooters. The PistolMouse looks like a gun, features aluminum triggers, a scrollwheel, and uses 800dpi optical tracking.
MonsterGecko CEO and co-founder Ain McKendrick said that the PistolMouse FPS is designed to provide better resolution and accuracy than conventional joysticks and gamepads. “The PistolMouse FPS is designed to maintain the precision of a high-resolution optical mouse, but improves on ergonomics and player reaction speed to give gamers a competitive edge,” he said.
The game controller features primary and secondary grip triggers, and the thumb scroll wheel is ambidextrous. It also features removable grips.
System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.0 or higher and a free USB port. The PistolMouse FPS costs US$69.95, and will be released this June.
