A new auto racing game called Virtual Grand Prix 2 is coming to North America thanks to a partnership between its publisher, Virtual Programming Ltd., and Ideas From the Deep, a Texas-based game developer, publisher and reseller headed up by industry veteran Lane Roathe. The game is available for online ordering now for US$19.99.
Virtual Grand Prix 2 brings players to the world of open-wheel auto racing, where they can get behind the wheels of 20 cars and experience what it’s like to race on 15 tracks. A network game mode provides online play, as well. Also included is a track editing tool.
Virtual Grand Prix 2 runs using OpenGL and works on both Mac OS X v10.2 or higher as well as certain “Classic” Mac operating system versions. It was developed by Italian game maker AlasSoft and was created as an original Mac-only title, not a port from PC or console platforms.
Virtual Grand Prix 2 was released in the UK in April.
