Qualcomm Inc. announced the immediate availability of Eudora 6.1.1 on Wednesday. The new version of the company’s e-mail client features several bug fixes, including problems with contextual filing to IMAP mailboxes with children and the handling of unusual local folders, among other issues. Eudora 6.1.1, which requires Mac OS X v10.0 or higher, is US$49.95 for new users or those who purchased a registration code more than 24 months ago, if you want to use it in Paid mode. Upgrades from version 6.0 or 6.1 are free if purchased within the last 12 months or $39.95 if purchased before then. Paid mode also includes 12 months of free upgrades and technical support. The free version of Eudora 6.1 comes in two flavors: sponsored and light modes. The former places an ad window and up to three sponsored toolbar links in the application; the latter removes the ads but drops features.
