If you have a beige or blue and white Power Mac G3 system or a PCI-based Power Mac G4 (sometimes called “Yikes”) that you’d like to bump up to a 600MHz G4, Daystar Technology on Tuesday announced its new XLR8 MAChSpeed G4 ZIF 500/600. The US$199 MAChSpeed G4 ZIF 500/600 uses Motorola’s 7410500LE CPU, which comes equipped with 250MHz backside cache. It costs US$199 and comes with MAChSpeed Control software, which helps users tweak and manage performance.
