Aspyr Media Inc. on Wednesday announced that it’s shipping Medal of Honor Allied Assault Breakthrough, the latest expansion pack for its Mac conversion of the popular World War II-era first person shooter action game. The expansion pack costs US$29.99 and requires the original Medal of Honor game to play.
The original Medal of Honor put players behind enemy lines in an assault on Nazi Germany; this new expansion pack brings the battle to North Africa and Italy as you take the role of U.S. Army Sergeant John Baker, fighting the Nazis at Kasserine Pass, capturing Messina in Sicily, and fighting the German war machine at Monte Battaglia in Italy. New weapons have been added in this version, along with the ability to drive tanks and command minesweepers. A new multiplayer game has been added called Liberation Mode, and nine new multiplayer levels are included with this expansion pack. Players can now take the role of American, British, Italian and German soldiers in multiplayer.
Rated T for Teen by the ESRB, Medal of Honor Allied Assault Breakthrough’s system requirements are a little north of the original Medal of Honor: Mac OS X 10.2.8 or later or Mac OS 9.2.2; G3, G4 or G5/800MHz or faster; 256MB RAM; 1.6GB free hard disk space and ATI Radeon 7500 or Nvidia GeForce2 MX or better 3D graphics with at least 32MB VRAM.
