Mac upgrade maker Sonnet Technologies Inc. on Friday introduced Sonata SD, a PCI-based graphics card equipped with 16MB of VRAM and VGA and Apple RGB (15-pin) video output interfaces. The company said the card is compatible with any Macs with PCI slots and “almost every” analog monitor. It works with Mac OS X 10.1.5 higher, as well as Mac OS 7.5.3 – 9.2.2 — users of those older operating systems also gain a “Screen Doubler” virtual desktop capability. Sonnet plans to ship Sonata SD in early June for US$99.95.
