Scholastic Inc. is offering a new game aimed at preschoolers based on PBS’s Dragon Tales television show, as well as a new game for grade school-aged kids based on the popular I Spy book series. Dragon Tales: Learn & Fly With Dragons and I Spy: Spooky Mansion Deluxe are both planned for a June release, shipping on hybrid CD-ROM for Mac and Windows operating systems. They’ll each cost US$19.95.
Dragon Tales: Learn & Fly With Dragons let kids ages 4-6 explore Dragon Land as they help Cassie’s brothers and sisters learn to fly. The title emphasizes early math and thinking skills as kids earn Dragon Badges and participate in activities with the Dragon Tales characters; then they get to use flying skills in an action game. 11 activities and mini games are featured, along with three unique adventures and three levels of play that automatically adjust depending on the player’s ability.
I Spy: Spooky Mansion Deluxe is a collection of picture riddles and games set in a dark, mysterious house. Players reveal hundreds of hidden objects and secrets as they try to find their way out; they can also make their own ghosts, unveil a secret room and more. This version has 39 riddles all together, two different games, the ability to create seven ghosts and more. It’s aimed at kids ages 6-10.
