On Wednesday, Lincoln, Neb.-based developer MindVision Software announced that Installer VISE 8.4 is now available for download. Changes found in the update include improved detection of non-standard filename extensions found in bundles, use of the icon for a specific bundle rather than a generic one, the ability to control installations to UNIX File System volumes, enhancements to the localized versions of the application, better error reporting, bug fixes and more. This is a free upgrade for users with current annual licenses, while those who want the full version should consult MindVision’s pricing page for more information. A limited-life demo is available from the company’s Web site; you’ll need Mac OS 9.1 or higher, with CarbonLib 1.5 or higher, or Mac OS X v10.1 or higher.
