AssistiveWare has released an update to SwitchXS, its application for disabled Mac users who must employ switches to emulate mouse and keyboard actions, as well as such peripherals as gamepads. Version 1.5 adds speech-cueing during scanning, customizable key repeat, support for multiple monitors, a dedicated Web browsing panel and more. This is a free update for registered users; the full version is €199 (US$249). SwitchXS requires Mac OS X v10.2 or higher (v10.3 is recommended), and a demo is available for download from the AssistiveWare Web site.
