NEC Solutions Inc.’s Visual Systems Division announced that it will add five new projectors and five new commercial plasma displays to product lines over the summer and fall. Four of the projectors — the VT47, VT470, VT570 and VT670 — are updates to existing models while the fifth, the MT1075, is a companion to the company’s MT1065 commercial projector. The five plasma displays — the 42XM3, 50XM4, 61XM3, 42VP5 and 42VM5 — are additions to NEC’s line of PlasmaSync commercial displays.
All of NEC’s projector updates offer a sleep timer, automatic vertical keystone correction and more. The differences come in resolution and lumens. The VT47 (July, US$999) and VT470 (August, $1,295) feature SVGA resolution, but the former puts out 1500 ANSI lumens while the latter projects at 2000. The VT570 (July, $1,395) and VT670 (August, $1,995) feature XGA resolution and 1300 and 2100 ANSI lumens, respectively. Meanwhile, the MT1075, a $5,495 unit that’s available now, offers wireless or wired networking connectivity, an image sensor that automatically adjusts the image and more.
The company’s next-generation PlasmaSync displays feature XGA resolution in the 42XM3 ($5,295), 50XM4 ($7,495) and 61XM3 ($13,495) models and VGA resolution in the 42VP5 ($2,995) and 42VM5 ($2,995) models. All five offer built-in matrixing for multi-screen displays, brightness and contrast improvements over previous models, a DVI connection for HDCP and more. The 50XM4 and 61XM3 displays also feature split-screen functionality that allows two sources to be shown simultaneously. All five will be available in September.
