Kano Technologies announced on Tuesday the release of the SureFIRE800, a small external hard drive that, at .75 by 3.25 by 5.25 inches, is slightly bigger than Apple’s iPod. The SureFIRE800 features up to 80GB of storage, FireWire 400/800 and USB 2.0 connectivity and a copy of Dantz Retrospect Express backup software. Pricing for the 20GB, 40GB, 60GB and 80GB models is US$249, $289, $339 and $399, respectively. System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.1.2, 16MB RAM (24MB recommended) and 100MB free hard drive space.
