Audio software maker Levelground Media has released updates to its Vintasion and Fattenizer, and has introduced a new plug-in, CrunchEQ. All three plug-ins support Mac OS X’s Core Audio architecture and operate as Audio Units, compatible with any Audio Unit-compatible software host environments.
Vintasion is designed to provide musicians and audio engineers with the ability to apply tonal changes similar to what can be produced using vintage tube-style gear. Fattenizer “fattens” tracks or mixes that have a thin sound. CrunchEQ combines a 10-band equalizer and 5-band parametric equalizer with the ability to “crunch” audio using mild distortion.
All the software requires a G4/800MHz or better, Mac OS X v10.2 and 384MB RAM. Each plug-in costs US$34.95; they’re also available in the “LgM Thermal Pack” combined for $59.95.
