The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that the Quaker Valley School Board voted unanimously to approve a US$3.1 million lease that will put about 1,200 Apple desktop and laptop machines in place for students attending the district’s high schools. The lease expands a three year old computer literacy initiative already in place that’s put laptops in the hands of students in grades 3 – 12. With this expansion, laptop and desktop computers will be available for use in libraries, computer labs and on mobile computing carts throughout the district’s elementary and middle schools.
