Graphics card and chip maker ATI Technologies Inc. reported US$491.5 million in revenue for its third quarter of fiscal 2004, ending May 31, 2004. That number is a 38.2 percent increase over the same quarter last year. The company also saw a gross margin increase of 2.7 percent, and recorded net income of $0.19 per share compared to $0.06 per share for the same quarter a year ago. ATI Chairman K.Y. Ho attributes his company’s strong financial success to sales games in the add-in board channel, notebook, handheld chip and digital television (DTV) markets.
ATI expects fourth-quarter revenues to be in the range of US$510 – $550 million, with gross margin to top out at about 35 percent. Operating expenses are anticipated to rise about 5 percent relative to the third quarter.
