BUG.tv’s (Broadcast Unifying Gears) ListPlayer Express is a Mac-based “instant video server” that turns a Power Mac G4 or G5 system into a video server for use in closed-circuit television systems in place in department stores, educational institutions and other businesses. It supports QuickTime-based media, and can play iMovie, Final Cut Express and Final Cut Pro movies without any file conversion. On Tuesday, BUG.tv announced a new version of ListPlayer Express that supports PAL, the European standard for television — up to now, ListPlayer Express has only worked on NTSC, the television standard used in North America. ListPlayer Express costs US$349 (with a $50 rebate until July 15th).
