Music audio hardware and software maker M-Audio recently introduced its new Classroom Studio, which bundles the company’s MobilePre USB audio interface and preamp, two Nova large condenser microphones, Ableton’s Live Delta software, Reason Adapted, cables and a QuickStart guide together for US$349.95.
Live Delta is a streamlined version of Ableton’s Live software, which lets users create loop-based or linear digital recordings. Reason Adapted lets users add synthesizers, drums and other instrumentation to their arrangements. The MobilePre USB can work as a stereo microphone preamp and as an audio interface; it sports 16-bit/48kHz operation, two XLR mic inputs with phantom power, 1/8-inch TRS stereo mic input, two 1/4-inch high-impedance line inputs for guitar, bass or other instruments, two 1/4-inch line outputs and stereo headphone output with level control. The Nova mics each feature a 1.1-inch evaporated gold diaphragm, solid brass body and capsule, and 20Hz-18kHz frequency response.
System requirements call for a G3/300MHz or faster or G4/350MHz or faster with 256MB RAM, native USB and Mac OS X v10.2.6 or 9.2.2 or later. M-Audio’s Web site had not been updated with information about the new bundle as MacCentral posted this article.
