Quark Inc. on Tuesday announced that it has revised its single-user license policy for its flagship desktop publishing software, QuarkXPress 6. Under the new policy, users can install and activate the software on a second computer for no additional charge. The new policy allows for non-concurrent use of QuarkXPress on two systems on the same platform. Users can install the software on a second computer and activate it over the Internet effective immediately.
This policy replaces Quark’s existing Mobile Licensing program — users who have a Mobile License can request a coupon redeemable for the purchase of Quark software or services, according to the company.
In related news, Quark on Tuesday announced a promotion for educators and students: They can now purchase the full QuarkXPress 6 package for US$199. Upgrades cost $99, and full product “Lab-Paks” cost $99 per seat, while Lab-Pak upgrades cost $89.
