Morrison SoftDesign Inc. announced on Thursday the release of FontDoctor 6.1, the new version of its font problem diagnosis and repair application. The upgrade adds several new features, including the ability to diagnose damaged fonts without repairing them, an import/export settings menu, an option to diagnose problems with PostScript font file names and more. In addition, FontDoctor 6.1 offers several performance enhancements and bug fixes. This is a free upgrade for registered users of version 5.1 or higher, while those who own an earlier edition must pay US$19.99; the full version is $69.99. Morrison SoftDesign states that FontDoctor 6.1 works with Mac OS 9.0 or higher but doesn’t note the minimum version of Mac OS X required.
