Microsoft has announced that it brought in designer Philippe Starck to create
The Optical Mouse by S+ARCK, which features two buttons that extend from front to back, with a scroll wheel between them at the top of a lighted strip. When the wired S+ARCK mouse ships in August, it will carry a US$34.95 price tag and be available in two colors, blue and orange. The same month, Microsoft will also ship a new version of its Wireless Optical Mouse called Mood Ring ($44.95) and two new color variations on its Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer: Cobalt Basin and Crimson Fire (both $54.95). In addition to the graphic patterns on their bodies, the new mice also feature scroll wheels with Tilt Wheel technology, a better version of Microsoft Optical Technology and more than six months of battery life, on average. As MacCentral posted this article, product pages were not yet available on the Microsoft Web site.
