British developer Hotwork Ltd. announced on Friday the release of Refractory Lining Thermal Modeler, an application for designing prototype linings for furnaces, heaters and kilns. It offers several ways to adjust variables and make comparisons while modeling a lining, including the ability to drag and drop materials onto different heat calculations, automatic adjustments for face and ambient temperatures, support for ASTM and metric units of measurement and more. Its database structure allows you to store and edit various lining materials and you can import them from other applications and export them for use elsewhere. Refractory Lining Thermal Modeler is £169.95 (US$316.07) and runs in Mac OS X, although Hotwork Ltd. doesn’t specify the minimum version number required.
