Internet Service Provider (ISP)
offers TotalAccess Internet software to its Windows and Mac users to help simplify dialup connectivity. On Monday, EarthLink announced an expansion of its partnership with high-speed service provider Boingo Wireless Inc. to make Wi-Fi-based Internet connectivity available using the TotalAccess Internet software as well.
The service will be integrated into a forthcoming release of TotalAccess for Mac and Windows, and EarthLink says it will let the company’s customers more easily connect using public Wi-Fi hot spots, corporate Wi-Fi connections, and high-speed wireless connections in the home. Boingo and EarthLink already have an agreement that provides a standalone Wi-Fi service; this expanded arrangement will integrate Wi-Fi access directly into software available to 5.3 million EarthLink customers. A release date for the new software was not announced.
