Italian developer Ilexsoft has released HighDesign 1.3, an upgrade to the company’s computer-aided drafting (CAD) software that features more than 60 additions and improvements, including rulers that offer quick unit switching, origin setting and selection bounds; a Shortcuts preferences panel that allows you to customize keyboard shortcuts; a new Line by Center tool; a redesigned rectangle tool that supports solid color fills, edge display and transparency; and more. This is a free update for owners of version 1.x or higher, and new users can expect to pay US$149.95 for the Standard edition or $349.95 for the Professional edition, which offers extra tools aimed at professional architects, with upgrades from Standard to Professional running $199.95. HighDesign 1.3 requires Mac OS X v10.1.3 or higher (v10.3.3 recommended), a 400MHz G3 a 350MHz G4 (a 1GHz G4 or any G5 recommended), 128MB RAM (256MB recommended), 50MB hard drive space and an ATI Rage 128 PCI video card (ATI Radeon 9200 recommended).
