Fort Worth, Texas-based CSi on Friday introduced two new Computer Aided Design (CAD) products for Mac OS X and Windows — Concepts 2D and Concepts 3D. Concepts 2D helps create 2D drawings from 3D data culled from SAT, ProE and CATIA files, while Concepts 3D is a 3D modeling package unto itself.
Concepts 2D includes the ability to create automatically wireframe and hidden line drawings. It’s designed not only to create 2D drawings from 3D imported models, but also includes detail, section and auxiliary view creation tools. Features in Concepts 3D include advanced curve, surface and solid modeling tools, a geometry kernel based on the ACIS R13 industry standard, and more.
Concepts 2D is available for US$495; Concepts 3D costs US$895. Education pricing of $50 and $99 is available for each title respectively, and localized versions have been produced in Japanese, French, Dutch and German. System requirements call for Mac OS X or Mac OS 9, G4 processor, 512MB RAM and CD-ROM drive.
