McAfee Inc. announced on Monday that an upgrade to its Virex for Macintosh anti-virus software will be available in August. Version 7.5 features real-time “on access” scanning for viruses, automatic eUpdate functionality that downloads the latest virus updates, scheduling options for On Demand scans, an updated scan engine and generic detection, which helps the software find and eliminate variations of a virus. Virex 7.5 for Macintosh requires Mac OS X v10.2.6 or higher or v10.3. or higher. McAfee had not updated its Web site with pricing information for the upgrade as MacCentral posted this article.
