Oracle Corp. and Macromedia have announced a partnership that takes advantage of the former’s learning management system and the latter’s line of content creation products. The result is the Content Resource Center, which was created by Oracle and is supported by Macromedia; it allows companies to use Macromedia’s applications to develop, share and publish content while employing Oracle’s iLearning educational management system for enterprise operations. Both companies hope that the initiative will improve the interoperability between content creation and deployment systems as well as facilitate their mutual interest in developing standards for online learning technology. Users of the Content Resource Center will have access to Oracle’s PartnerNetwork and Macromedia’s Alliance partner program and get the opportunity to showcase their content to other members of the community.
The Content Resource Center requires the completion of four steps to join its network. First, you can log in as a guest and view online content from partners that include Harvard University Press. Next, you must self-register and test your content in Oracle iLearning. After that, you can submit original content for interoperability testing and then, finally, join the managed content partner program.
