Rogue Amoeba Software LLC on Wednesday introduced Audio Hijack Pro 2.0, a new version of their audio recording and enhancement utility for Mac OS X. Audio Hijack Pro enables Mac users to record any audio your Mac can play, and can also apply VST and AudioUnit plug-ins to process audio as well.
The new version adds more than 35 new features, according to the developer. New capabilities include a new user interface, the ability to record using Dolby Advanced Audio Codec (AAC) and Apple Lossless (ALAC) formats, a Recording Bin to organize and preview audio clips, integrated CD burning, the ability to split tracks on silence or remove silence, one-shot and recurring timers, automatic wake-up timers (using Mac OS X v10.3), integrated audio input recording, ID3 tagging, parallel effects processing and more.
Audio Hijack Pro requires Mac OS X v10.2.7 or higher (some features require Mac OS X v10.3 or higher), and it costs US$32 to register. Upgrades from Audio Hijack Pro 1.x cost $10.
