Mark/Space Inc. announced on Thursday the release of version 4.0 of The Missing Sync for Palm OS, a major update to the company’s software for syncing Mac OS X’s Address Book, iCal and more with a Palm-based device. This upgrade adds: the ability to network sync over AirPort or other WiFi device; SyncMinder, which lets you set up reminders to sync your Palm device; wireless Internet connection sharing with Bluetooth; the ability to mount memory or expansion cards on the Desktop and copy files directly to them; a stand-alone application called MemoPad that lets you sync handheld memos to Address Book and iCal; and more.
Missing Sync 4.0 also supports Apple’s iSync Palm Conduit, Microsoft’s Entourage Conduit and other existing Palm conduits for Mac, which eases the transition from HotSync Manager. The application is compatible with a wide range of Palm OS-based PDAs and smartphones, including devices from AlphaSmart, Garmin, palmOne, Samsung, Sony and Tapwave. It’s available for purchase and download now from the Mark/Space Web site for US$39.95, with physical CDs available in September for $49.95 plus shipping and handling. Users with earlier versions of Missing Sync for Palm OS, for Sony CLIÉ, for Garmin iQue, for Tapwave Zodiac or for Internet Sharing & AvantGo can upgrade for $19.95. System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.2.8 or higher (v10.3.4 recommended), a USB-equipped handheld device running Palm OS 4 or 5.
