Developer rootsolutions has announced the release of StudioEase 5.0, an upgrade to the company’s administration software for recording studios and musicians. StudioEase features a group of modules that handle everything from archiving work to tracking projects and budgets to printing labels for various types of media. The new version offers Roxio Jam playlist support in the archives and label printing modules, customizable address formats and other changes in the contacts module, automatic handling of equipment rentals as invoicing items, support for importing records that need to be printed as labels and more, including numerous bug fixes and performance improvements.
If you’re a current StudioEase user, rootsolutions asks you to check your ReadMe file to see if you’re eligible for a free upgrade to version 5.0; if you are, follow the directions on the company’s ordering page. If you’re not eligible, you can upgrade a pro license for US$25, a standard license for $15, a site license for $90 and a worldwide license for $200. The pro license, which is $95 for the full version, adds several functions to the software, including password protection, the budget and supplies modules and more. A standard license is $60, with an upgrade to the pro version available for $40, while the site license, which covers all users within a 100-mile radius, is $350. A worldwide license offers unrestricted use of StudioEase across multiple locations and is $800.
System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.1 or higher, a G3 processor, 64MB RAM, 30MB hard drive space and FileMaker Pro 5.5 or higher if you intend to use StudioEase on a network.
