Hays High School in Hays, Kansas issued about 1,000 iBooks to students who showed up for enrollment this week. The school is offering the iBooks to students before the school year starts so they can familiarize themselves with the laptop computer’s operation. What’s more, the school is offering training classes to help new users get a leg up as well. In addition to their classroom curriculum, students will be able to use the iBooks to access classroom agendas online and get feedback after taking tests. School technology administrators have installed filters to keep kids off Internet sites they shouldn’t be going to, according to a recent article in the Dodge City Daily Globe.
