Onset Computer Corp. has announced the release of a new Hobo U12 Thermocouple Logger, a 12-bit resolution data logger that runs on a user-replaceable lithium battery and can measure temperatures up to 3,200 degrees Fahrenheit, as gathered by J, K, S or T Thermocouple Probes. It features cold-junction compensation, which offers a temperature reference at the logger for better accuracy, a USB interface and integration with Onset’s HoboWare software for manipulating gathered data, measuring the logger’s battery level and more. The Hobo U12 Thermocouple Logger is US$119 and HoboWare is $59; the latter requires Mac OS X v10.2.6 or v10.2.8 with Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 1.4.1 or Mac OS X v10.3.1 with JRE 1.4.2.
