Maxon Computer has introduced Cinema 4D Release 9. The upgrade to the company’s 3D animation tool adds over 100 new functions and features, including a Heads-Up Display (HUD) that displays modifiable information in the editor and renders dynamic highlights in preview mode before they’re executed, an enhanced MOCCA module that offers more realistic cloth simulations, a re-engineered modeling core with full N-Gon support and more. Cinema 4D can also now directly export multi-pass rendering data to discreet’s Combustion and Apple’s Final Cut Pro.
Maxon expects to ship Cinema 4D Release 9 worldwide in early September. Upgrade and full version pricing were not given, but system requirements were: Mac OS X v10.3, 512MB RAM (1.024GB recommended) and a 1GHz processor (2GHz recommended). A demo is available for download from the Maxon Web site after you fill out a registration form.
