Submersible Music on Wednesday released DrumCore, a new US$249 software collection available for composers, producers and musicians who want to create their own drum tracks in a multitude of different styles. The kit contains two DVDs containing the DrumCore application and content from renowned drummers including Alan White, Matt Sorum, Sly Dunbar, Zoro, Jeff Anthony, John Bishop, Ben Smith, Tony Braunagel, Ned Douglas, DJ Syze-up and Michael Shrieve.
DrumCore includes a search engine that lets you look for content based on drummer, style, feel, time signature and tempo. A MIDI drum module comes loaded with each drummer’s drumkit, and can be used to play included MIDI grooves. Digital content is supplied in 48kHz/24-bit digital audio and MID formats. DrumCore includes support for ReWire and Core Audio, and the ability to export to ProTools, Digital Performer and Cubase/Nuendo. And the “Gabrielizer” generates new rhythms by changing a selected file based on beat generation algorithms; the file can be saved back into DrumCore’s library or exported to a digital audio workstation (DAW).
DrumCore requires a G4/400MHz or faster, 256MB RAM, 10GB of hard drive space, a DVD drive to install, and Mac OS X v10.2.3 or higher.
