Destineer subsidiary MacSoft on Wednesday announced the long-awaited releases of Shadows of Underentide and Hordes of the Underdark, two expansion packs for the role playing game Neverwinter Nights.
Neverwinter Nights was released for the Mac in July 2003. It’s been no secret to avid Neverwinter Nights players that the expansion packs released for the Windows version of the game also work on the Mac, but some players have longed for a Mac-specific installer.
Each expansion pack provides Neverwinter Nights users with more than 20 hours of additional gameplay. Shadows of Undrentide provides new character and prestige classes, monsters, weapons, feats, skills and spells; Hordes of the Underdark provides users the chance to reach “Epic” status with levels up to 40. Each expansion pack costs US$29.99.
System requirements for Shadows of Undrentide call for Mac OS X v10.2.8 or later, G4/450MHz or faster, 256MB RAM, ATI Radeon or Nvidia GeForce2 MX or better video with at least 32MB VRAM, 1.2GB free hard disk space, 8x CD-ROM. Hordes of the Underdark carries similar system requirements but requires an 800MHz or faster processor.
