The MathWorks announced on Monday the release of its Video and Image Processing Blockset, an application aimed at engineers who design embedded video and image processing systems. It works within the Simulink dynamic systems modeling environment, enabling users to build models, simulate algorithms and system behavior, create C-code for deployment on programmable processors and verify their designs.
The Video and Image Processing Blockset features a customizable framework and a library that includes 2D filters, conversions and more. It’s available now with pricing that starts at US$1,000; it requires Mac OS X v10.3.2 and MathWorks’ Matlab, Signal Processing Toolbox, Image Processing Toolbox, Simulink and Signal Processing Blockset applications. Next month, the company will release an update that adds support for Texas Instruments’ DM64x video development platform.
