Altec Lansing Technologies Inc. on Tuesday announced the inMotion iM3, a new version of its portable sound system for both iPods and iPod minis. The new iM3 now features perforated aluminum grills over the four 1-inch neodymium speakers, and comes with a wireless remote control that can be stored inside the unit when not in use, and a universal power supply with changeable plug set. The iM3 can work on its own batteries for up to 24 hours at a time. It also accepts input from other audio sources using a 3.5mm jack. The iM3 will be released in late summer through Apple stores and Apple’s online store for US$179.95.
