Runtime Revolution also announced during the Apple Expo in Paris that version 2.5 of its Revolution Studio and Enterprise programming environments is now available. Among more than 700 changes, the upgrade adds support for Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) when transmitting data over a network or the Internet, a new XML-RPC library, improved Unicode support, a new learning center with a library of sample projects and video- and PDF-based tools and more. This is a free upgrade for Studio and Enterprise users who have current update licenses.
The full versions of Runtime Studio and Enterprise are £199 (US$358.70) and £599 ($1,079.94), respectively, with 30-day trial editions available for download. Enterprise offers certain features that Studio only provides as add-ons, such as SSL support, the ability to access Oracle databases and the ability to edit and debug code on more than one platform.
