Graphisoft announced Wednesday the forthcoming release of ArchiCAD 9, a new version of their Computer Aided Design (CAD) software building architects, for Mac and Windows platforms. The new release is coming in mid-September and sports new features a new uncluttered interface, a new palette layout, docking palettes, a customizable tool box, area-based selection, and improved library search capabilities. Other enhancements include improved editing tools, floor-plan hatches, enhanced PDF output support and drag-and-drop support for AutoCAD DWG files. Speed has been increased and a new text-editing tool has been added also. ArchiCAD 9 will be released mid-September, according to Graphisoft.
