Miglia Technology has introduced its DualDisk 320GB and 500GB FireWire 800-based storage systems. The external hard drives incorporate two mechanism inside along with hardware support for RAID level 0, or striping, a technique which enables the two drives to read and write data simultaneously, thus improving data transfer rates compared to a single mechanism. The enclosure is made of aluminum. System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.2.5 or higher for FireWire 800 speeds, Mac OS 9.1 or higher for FireWire 400 speeds. Pricing for the DualDisk 320 and 500 is US$429 and $669 respectively.
