Marathon Computer Inc. has announced the forthcoming release of the SideKick — an add-on for the company’s G5 Vertical Rackmount. The SideKick helps users make use of the vertical space left over when a Power Mac G5 is mounted into an equipment rack.
A Power Mac G5 mounted vertically in a standard equipment rack leaves a great deal of vertical space left over. The SideKick enables that space to be utilized to provide an additional 4U of standard 19-inch rackspace turned sideways, alongside the G5. Pricing has not been announced, but Marathon expects the G5 SideKick to be available during the week of September 13, 2004.
