PlaylistMag.com launched this week as a resource for digital music enthusisasts using a Mac or Windows operating systems. Edited by Christopher Breen, a Macworld columnist and author of the popular book Secrets of the iPod, PlaylistMag.com will feature free music downloads, playlists from musicians and celebrities, and a community forum where users can share their tips, tricks and even their own playlists with other digital music fans.
“The listening landscape has changed dramatically since the advent of the iPod.” said Breen. “Our goal is to expose our visitors to great music through our daily downloads, featured playlists, and industry interviews. We’ll also keep you up to date with what’s happening in the world of digital music through our news links. And if you need assistance deciding which gear best suits your musical needs — or simply can’t figure out how to move Music A to Device B — our reviews and tutorials will provide all the help you need.”
The site features “Today’s Playlists,” a collection of hot tracks selected by celebrities and musicians such as Rosanne Cash, Lil Jon, and members of Franz Ferdinand as well as music-industry insiders, and PlaylistMag.com editors. Cool music downloads, updated daily, are free for the taking. News about the digital music market and new releases as well as the Top 10 music charts from iTunes are also available online. Editorial on the site will spotlight digital music technology, the digital lifestyle, and music artists.
