Aspyr Media Inc. announced Thursday plans to publish a Macintosh conversion of Call of Duty: United Offensive, an expansion pack for the hit World War II-era first person shooter Call of Duty. The add-on, which requires the original Call of Duty, will be released in November. Call of Duty: United Offensive is under development at Aspyr’s internal development studios. It was originally developed by Infinity Ward and has been licensed from ACtivision.
Call of Duty: United Offensive offers Call of Duty players new challenge set in the European theater of World War II as they take the role of American, British and Russian soldiers engaged in historic battles like the invasion of Sicily and the Battle of Kursk. 13 new single-player missions have been added, as well as 11 new multiplayer maps and three new gaming modes. Jeeps, tanks, motorcycles and bombers can be operated, new realistic weather conditions have been added, and new weapons are also available — flamethrowers, deployable machine guns, even artillery strikes. System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.2.8 or later, G4/867MHz or faster, 256MB RAM, 1.4GB hard disk space, ATI Radeon 7500 or Nvidia GeForce2 MX or better 3D graphics with 32MB VRAM, and DVD drive.
